Birds at Lover’s Key 2/27/10

Today we were at Lover’s Key State Park from about 4:30 – 6:30 pm.  A storm had just gone through the area, but the sun was out.  It was around 55 degrees.  A  day when living in SWFL really isn’t so bad.

Birds we saw:

Great Egret

White Ibis

Black Skimmer

Osprey (thought they were bald eagles at first, they had huge nests, and you could hear the babies squawking for good)

Grey Pelican (flying, diving, floating, and even a flock of them flying overhead)

Little Blue Heron

Black-Crowned Night Heron (we think)

Sea Gulls

And some as yet unidentified bird
